These two Alaska coastal natives are from Siberian Yupik decent. Subsistence hunting and carving are an important lifestyle in coastal Alaska. Walrus and Bowhead whale are hunted for food and the ivory and baleen is carved into beautiful art sculptures and scrimshaw. Old fossil whale bone is also found on St. Lawrence Island where Chris and Al's ancestors once lived.
